2015 ATEA Annual Meeting
and Election of the Board of Trustees
Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe that two years have come and gone. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating technical education in Chattanooga where I had the honor of becoming the president of the American Technical Education Association. Now, we prepare for Indianapolis, and my term is set to expire. Over the past two years, we have truly experienced a renaissance in technical education. Across our nation, skilled technician are in demand. The national conversation on higher education now includes career readiness, something technical education has been doing for over 100 years. It is exciting to see career and technical education receive the attention it deserves as we look to solve our nation’s growing skills gap.
During the National Conference in Indianapolis, Paul Young will be installed as the next president of the ATEA. I know that under his leadership ATEA will continue to deliver on its mission, and we will continue to bring together the best minds in our field at great national conferences.
I want to thank all of you for your support of this exceptional organization. Over the past two years, I’ve enjoyed connecting with technical educators from across our nation and across the globe. It has been one of the highlights of my career to serve as president of ATEA.
Good luck,
Rich
