ATEA announcements from October and November 2019 

2019 Board of Trustees Meeting, Minneapolis, MN.. October 2, 2019

Appointment to treasurer: Dr. Scott Mickelson, President of Dawson Community College, Glendive, Montana was voted in as Treasurer of the American Technical Education Association.   He has served as Interim Treasurer since April 2019.   

Recognition of Mr. Bob Wallace, retired Finance Director for the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCAT) served as the ATEA Board Director of Finance/Treasurer since 2008.   Bob continued his service past his retirement at Tennessee Board of Regents to allow time for transition to a new treasurer.  The ATEA Board of Trustees voted Mr. Wallace the first ATEA Board Emeritus, the first in ATEA's history.

ATEA Past Presidents' announcement November 8, 2019 

Dr. Jon Connolly has been approved for moving into the 1st Vice Presidency to become president March 2021.  Mary Kaye Bredeson requested to move from the 1st Vice Presidency which is in immediate line of succession but remain in the Executive Committee.   She will become the 2nd Vice President until the Executive Committee makes a recommendation to the Board of Trustees on vice presidencies and succession at the March 16 Board meeting.  The  Past Presidents Council is designated to recommend succession.  They votedto approve the exchange on November 5, 2019.  They recommended that the Executive Committee discuss ATEA's succession plan and make a recommendation to the Board of Trustees at the March 17, 2020 meeting in New Jersey.     They will meet  on November 22 in their quarterly conference call.
